WET Awards
Posted in News on June 27th, 2007 by stagnantHave you ever heard of the BET awards? Maybe Black History Month? These events seem to me as if they are prolonging the effects of racism rather than canceling them out. I have no problem with any race, although we do have our differences. However, is it really necessary to have an all black award ceremony? What if we had a “White Entertainment Awards?” I think that would go over really well…as long as there were armed police guards patrolling the city. Groups, clubs and even religion have their place in the community, but what good does it do to create a race based system? How is this helping to unify our country? I say we remember our history, we learn from the past and the mistakes we all made and try a little harder to pretend we are all just human beings.
