We all wanted to know
Posted in News, People on April 23rd, 2007 by stagnantOn April 21, 2007, Mirko faced Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 70 in Manchester, England. Gonzaga delivered a right roundkick to Filipović’s head, knocking him unconscious at 4:51 in the first round. Video replay showed Filipović’s right knee and leg twisted at almost 180 degrees as he fell to the ground. This led the ringside announcers, notably Joe Rogan, to speculate that Cro Cop might have suffered serious injuries beyond just losing consciousness. After being revived by the medical personnel, however, Filipović was able to stand and give an interview, as well as walk back to the locker room. Early indications are that he avoided serious injury, though he will undergo an MRI on April 24 as a precautionary measure.

Posted in News, People on April 22nd, 2007 by stagnantSo I got a whisper in Warcraft from a random player the other day. He said “have you seen that nin footage at opensourse resistance?”
I googled it like any other human and to my delight, I find another one of Trent’s ideas.

Posted in Humor, Video on April 16th, 2007 by oddI love Monty Python so I totally enjoyed this one. If you aren’t a fan you probably won’t dig it quite as much.
Venting in support of Big Business
Posted in Opinion, Rabble on April 12th, 2007 by stagnantSo you have all seen them. The “Truth” commercials with whacked out college activists pushing their views on the street. You have the cowboy with a tracheotomy singing a tune that cigarettes don’t always kill you. Or the preachy ones, with bull horns, stopping traffic and blabbing out useless facts that aren’t even relevant to their argument. Now we have this crazy cartoon like character “Derrick” going to gun stores to purchase “lite” bullets. As if there is a comparison of guns and cigarettes.
Are you fucking kidding me? Does someone actually think young kids will identify with this dick? He dresses like a hippie and has lens-less glasses the size of Harry Carry’s. In fact, it looks like he may have been homeless and has never washed his hair. Anyway, I could almost swear these people are paid by the tobacco companies just to embarrass themselves and make kids want to smoke as a form of rebellion.

You may be losing interest already, so I will continue to make myself feel better.
For one, all of the useless facts in the world will never stop some people from smoking. We all know this. We all KNOW that smoking increases our risk of all kinds of health problems and cancers. Okay, maybe a 7 year old watching his favorite action hero take a drag on screen needs to be told some facts, but isn’t that a parent’s responsibility? As a parent myself, I hope my daughter never smokes, but she needs to form her own opinion about these things after weighing the options. What if I just told her I would never speak to her again if she became a smoker? Is that what these people want?
Sure the evil tobacco companies seduce people, even young kids into trying their flashy new cigarettes. Is there a company out there that does not try to entice not only its current customer base, but new customers? I hate blatant materialistic advertising, too, but welcome to America. What seems un-American to me are these freaks almost pushing their warped view on an audience like fucking communists. Do the “Truth” folks REALLY want everyone to stop smoking? Do they want everyone to become as fucked up as them? Maybe they should take a nice long drag and slap on a nicotine patch and just chill the fuck out for a minute.
It just seems silly to put that much effort, marketing, time and money into such a specific topic when these people could be out donating their time to a big brother big sister organization. If they care for our children so much, there are much more positive ways to have an effect on children’s lives. Lets just accept it. There will always be tobacco. It will always kill people. It will also help people cope, whether physically or mentally, it does, admit it. I can think of many other “evil” causes to fight against.
As a side note, I tried to find some of the “Truth” commercials on youtube and much to my appreciation, most of them were spoofs from people who disliked the campaign. Search for yourself.
I was also puzzled why the new website is now called “whudafxup.com.” Did they mean to say “What the fuck is up?.” That seems a little harsh. They even have all kinds of downloads you can print out and post all over town. As if vandalism is a great way to do what’s right.

Posted in News on April 10th, 2007 by fecal_milkshakeHere was a document that was written by the founding fathers of this country. Several of whom did NOT believe in GOD and where self proclaimed atheists. I got into an argument with someone at work who insists that all the founding fathers were “god fearing Christiansâ€. He also didn’t believe that the word “GOD†didn’t appear once in the constitution. It’s funny to me that even when you show someone of faith proof that they are wrong they still can’t let them selves believe the truth. When I actually showed this person a copy of the constitution they told me that it was forged and probably edited by “left wing Nazisâ€. NO joke!!! I just laughed and went back to work. Just my little rant for the day….
